| Zhang Liang Temple. ◾️Zhang Liang Temple, also known as Han Zhang Liuhou Temple, is located in Miaotaizi Village, Liuhou Town, Liuba County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. It is located at the foot of Zibai Mountain on the southern slope of the Qinling Mountains and is a historical site with a history of more than 1,800 years. It is a temple dedicated to the outstanding ancient strategist Zhang Liang and is the largest and best-preserved temple dedicated to Zhang Liang in China. ◾️Zhang Liang is a name of great importance in Chinese history. Zhang Liang, courtesy name Zifang, was a minister of the early Han Dynasty and an important strategist of the Western Han Dynasty. He assisted Liu Bang in establishing the Han Dynasty and was known as one of the Three Heroes of the Han Dynasty along with Xiao He and Han Xin. When the Western Han Dynasty was established, Zhang Liang retired. After Liu Bang became the founding emperor of the Western Han Dynasty, he conferred the title of Marquis of Jin on Zhang Liang. Liu Bang once said of him: "He strategizes in the tent and wins battles from a thousand miles away." After assisting Liu Bang in establishing the Han Dynasty, Zhang Liang chose to retire here, where he built a temple and devoted himself to Taoism, eventually becoming an immortal. Because Zhang Liang's title was "Marquis of Liu," this small county town at the foot of Zibai Mountain in the depths of the Qinling Mountains was named "Liuba" after him, a name that has been used ever since. ◾️The ancient architectural complex of Zhang Liang Temple is built on the mountain, following the natural terrain. The buildings blend with the mountains and forests, combining northern palaces with southern gardens. The nine courtyards are arranged in an orderly manner, with attractions such as the archway, Jinlü Bridge, Sanqing Hall Courtyard, Main Hall Courtyard, North and South Gardens, Baishi Pavilion, Xixin Pool, Grass Pavilion, Cloud Ladder, Shushu Tower, and Bigu Pavilion. The museum houses a wealth of cultural relics and historical materials, with numerous ancient buildings, cliff inscriptions, stone tablets, plaques, couplets, and other cultural heritage. The parking lot at Zhang Liang Temple Scenic Area is small and cannot accommodate large crowds during the National Day holiday. Visitors' cars can only park on the side of the road.
