Lugano 🇨🇭 | There’s Really a Train Station Called Paradiso

#summervacay I visited Lugano once in winter, years ago — and even then, I fell in love with this quiet and charming little town. 🕊️ But in early summer, Lugano is on another level. The colors are richer, the skies brighter, and everything feels so alive. ☀️💐 As part of my “Escape from Milan” plan 😂, Lugano easily became my favorite stop. 🚆 Just over an hour from Milano Centrale, I arrived at the dreamy Lugano Paradiso Station — yes, it's literally called Paradiso! 🎢 Right next to the station is the Monte San Salvatore funicular. Head to the top and you’ll get a breathtaking panoramic view of Lake Lugano — absolutely worth it. 🏞️ Coming down, I recommend walking back to town along the lakeside. It’s one of the most beautiful and peaceful walks I’ve had — glistening water, swans, cozy benches, and mountain views. 🥐 Thanks to its proximity to Italy, the food here is surprisingly good too — very Italian-Swiss fusion. I happened to visit on Ascension Day, so many shops were closed... but I still had such a lovely, slow-paced day. 📍 To return to Milan, the main Lugano train station is uphill in the city center — a short walk or bus ride away.
