A great place for private hot springs near Changsha: Wugongshan Puyuan Hot Spring Hotel.

I wanted to find a relaxing place to enjoy hot springs before the New Year, but I didn't have much time off. I didn't want to go too far, and I didn't want to go to Huitang, so I decided to go to Pingxiang, which is not far from Changsha. I had a great experience there. It took me 2 hours to drive from Changsha. The hotel is in a Chinese garden style, and many people were sunbathing on the lawn. I chose a hot spring room, where I could enjoy the hot spring indoors or outdoors. I called the staff, and an auntie came to my room to disinfect and fill the pool. I could enjoy the hot spring anytime between 2:00 pm and 11:00 pm. I could enter the outdoor pool with my room card. The pool temperature was between 34°C and 45°C. I had to change into my swimsuit and bathrobe in my room before going to the pool, as there was no changing room. Walking to the pool in my bathrobe made me feel like I was in a Korean sauna. The food at the hotel was delicious. The chef could adjust the spiciness according to my taste, which was very considerate. The spring water fish and duck blood were delicious. The fried noodles at breakfast were even better than those at the noodle shop I went to in the county. If you drive, you can visit Luxi County, which is a 30-minute drive from the hotel. The county is very quaint, and it's very pleasant to take a walk along the river in the evening. By the way, the fried noodles at Sanmao Fried Noodles were just average, but the snails were good. The prices were very reasonable. It only cost CNY 100 for two people to have three dishes. In short, I can't wait to go back. It's a great place for a family trip.
