The predecessor of the Ho Tung Library was the private villa of Ho Tung, a well-known entrepreneur and philanthropist in Hong Kong and Macau. His family donated the house in accordance with his will to establish a public library with a collection of Chinese books. The house is filled with the fragrance of books and the outside is full of greenery. The towering ancient trees, fountains and rockery complement each other, giving this historic building a natural look. Walking in the quiet courtyard, you will feel like you are in a paradise.
