The Temple of Debod is an ancient Egyptian temple in Madrid, Spain. It was originally built in the 2nd century BC in southern Egypt, near Aswan, and was dedicated to the gods Amun and Isis. In 1968, Egypt gifted the temple to Spain as a thank-you for its help in saving Abu Simbel and other monuments from being flooded by the Aswan High Dam. Now, the temple sits in Parque del Oeste, near Plaza de España, and is one of the few examples of ancient Egyptian architecture outside Egypt. It's especially beautiful at sunset when its reflection appears in the surrounding water.
