Wat Thaton

Wat Tha Ton was originally an ancient temple, as can be assumed from the ancient objects found in this area. Wat Tha Ton was also an educational institution for monks, novices, and youths, a drug rehabilitation center, and a center for helping hill tribe people. It is a temple with beautiful scenery. On the occasion of His Majesty the King's 50th anniversary of his accession to the throne, the temple initiated a project to build a glass pagoda to honor the King on the top of the hill. On top, there is a viewpoint where you can see the community, rice fields, and the winding Kok River below. Phra Borommathat Ratchamangklacharn Samanchan (Glass Pagoda) A square-based pagoda with a round spire decorated with three types of glass: -Colored glass The part that you see looks like Benjarong porcelain, which represents ordinary people who have emotions of love, greed, anger, and delusion. The construction of this glass pagoda has a lot of colors because it was built with the faith of ordinary people the most. -Reflective glass When looking at this glass pagoda from a high angle, you will see the part that reflects the shadow of the pagoda, which is made of stainless steel mirrors. However, some of them are stuck with that goodness and cannot escape. - Clear glass is used as a see-through window in the pagoda.
