#AprilTravelSupport 🐘About Elephant Nature Park for Elephants🇹🇭 Do you know about Elephant Nature Park (ENP) located in Mae Teng, Northern Thailand? I learned about ENP while planning a trip to Thailand. This is a shelter that rescues and protects elephants abused in circuses and zoos, and it is an organization created solely for elephants. You can experience it by dividing it into one-time tourist programs and volunteer programs. I went on the Skywalk half-day tour program :) On the half-day tour, you can visit and hear information about the elephants in the shelter, see the elephants without any worries, and walk along the elephants' path. At ENP, outsiders are not allowed to touch or bathe the elephants, which can cause stress to them. You are only allowed to watch or feed them briefly. This is all for the elephants who have been structured. (The volunteer work program seems to involve cleaning elephant poop, preparing food, cleaning water tanks, and doing general work in the shelter.) Seeing elephants with their own stories made me reflect on myself who had been looking for experiential tours just to see elephants. Of course, there are places that are not like that, but I thought that elephants might get very stressed out in most experiential tours. Also, ENP says that the tour revenue is used to buy elephant food.
