I went on vacation to the Maldives, but on the way back I found out that my return flight was after 11pm, which meant I would have to stay at Male Airport for seven or eight hours. After arriving at Male Airport by seaplane from the hotel, the hotel staff kindly arranged luggage storage service for me, charging US$6 per piece of luggage. Although we don't have to pay him a fixed fee, according to local customs, we should give him an appropriate tip. Along the way, whether taking a taxi or buying water, the guy would first help me pay with the local currency, and then convert it into US dollars for settlement with me, which was very convenient. There are two ways to get from the airport to downtown Male. Taking the ferry costs only US$1 per person, and taking a taxi costs about US$7 one way. I chose to take a taxi and passed the only bridge in the Maldives - the Maldives-China Friendship Bridge. I felt a great sense of pride. I thought that as the capital of a country, Male would be very big, but when I arrived I found that it was really small. After walking a few steps with the tour guide, we visited several attractions. The young man patiently introduced me the history and characteristics of each place along the way, which gave me a deeper understanding of the city. After being tired of shopping, the guy took me to a local restaurant - Food Bank. As soon as I entered the door, I found that the place was almost full of tourists. The food was average and cost about $75 for two people. Although there is no particularly amazing taste experience, tasting local food in a foreign country is also a unique experience. After eating and drinking, I returned to Male Airport. I have to say that there are really not many facilities and places to visit at Male Airport. Out of boredom, I decided to write this guide to share with everyone. This trip to the Maldives left a deep impression on me. The beauty here lies not only in the stunning island scenery, but also in the relaxing and pleasant mood during vacation. Lying on the beach, feeling the sea breeze, looking at the blue sky and white clouds, all the worries disappear.
