Chetawan Monastery, Kyaikmaraw, Myanmar

The road into Kyaikmaraw town is lined with palm trees on both sides. It is one of the unseen in Myanmar. In the morning and evening you can take beautiful photos. Within the town, Chetawan Temple is an important landmark. The monastery has an unusual shape with a multi-layered roof. It houses a large principal Buddha image in the Mon art style and is very beautifully decorated. Inside the monastery is lined with silver metal plates carved with patterns. Outside you will find a rural agricultural atmosphere, rice fields and rice paddies.
