Melbourne D4 citywalk

Today, start from La Trobe Street, take Route 35 (every 12 minutes, clockwise, ends at 5pm, with maps on board, old-fashioned decor). Pass Flagstaff Gardens, Old Melbourne Gaol, Carlton Gardens (very beautiful, the building behind is the Exhibition Hall, and behind that is the Melbourne Museum), continue on Route 35 for 2 stops to Parliament Station, where there are free 45-minute guided tours on weekdays, limited to 25 people, you need to queue at the entrance in advance. Having just missed the 12pm tour, I continued on Route 35 for 2 stops to Flinders Street and got off at Federation Square (the tram passes Old Treasury Building and Treasury Gardens). Federation Square is right next to ACMI, which has exhibitions on light and shadow and the origins of film, worth a visit. Diagonally opposite is St Paul's Cathedral, and diagonally opposite that is Flinders Street Station. Due to time constraints, I took a quick tour of the cathedral and then headed back. I walked back to Parliament at 1:30pm, but still missed the 2pm tour, so I had to queue for the 3pm tour. Many people were taking wedding photos here. Security checks, passport registration, and bag storage start at 2:30pm. The front hall, the Parliament Chamber (one side represents the government, the other side the opposition), the rooftop Parliament Garden, the library (1861), the legal chamber, this nearly 1-hour tour is well worth it. Then take Route 109 to LUNE on Collins Street, card payment only, ordered an almond croissant, AUD 11.8, with almond syrup inside, quite delicious. Then walk to the NGV Australia next to Federation Square, the 2nd floor is Australian art, the 3rd floor is an exhibition of famous painters. A 5-minute walk takes you to Hoisier Lane graffiti street. Take Route 19 to Queen Victoria Market Station, this is the nearest free tram stop to the University of Melbourne, get off and continue walking 1 km, in about 10 minutes you will reach the University of Melbourne. Return to Flinders Street, have a steak, and wait for sunset. On Friday nights, there are concerts at Federation Square, very lively, from Princes Bridge you can see the Yarra River, on one side you can see the Australian Open venue, on the other side you can see Queen's Bridge, view Southbank, the night view is nice.
