Starting from Minoh Station, I walked for about 30 minutes along a mountain path that felt like a tunnel of maple leaves to reach Ryuanji Temple. The temple, nestled by a stream and blending into the valley, features a vermilion main hall that contrasts beautifully with the red maple leaves, creating a breathtaking scene. Especially the Benzaiten Bridge, reflecting on the water and surrounded by maple leaves, looks like a postcard in every photo. Founded in the Nara period (728 AD), Ryuanji Temple is one of the well-known training grounds in Kansai and is famous for enshrining Benzaiten, attracting many worshippers each year to pray for wealth and wisdom.
