[Miyakejima] Mount Nippanashinzan

This pyroclastic cone was formed by the 1983 eruption. Pyroclastic cones are made up of scoria and volcanic ash. Apparently, this Shinhana-Shinzan was formed overnight. It's surprising to wake up to a mountain. I was able to witness the grandeur of a volcano and eruption. [Second photo] This is a photo of scoria. Apparently, this color of scoria is unique only to the 1983 one. Scoria is very light, so the wind draws patterns on the ground like sand ripples. [Third photo] The ground looks completely black, but if you look closely, you can see the patterns. The patterns change depending on the wind direction and strength of the day. The uneven ground is also quite interesting☺️ The ocean side in [first photo] has been eroded by rough waves year after year, and when comparing photos from several years ago, the shape of Mt. Shinhanashinzan has changed little by little🌋 It's also interesting that the scenery you can see changes depending on the year you visit😌 I'll tell you a story that only the islanders know and that isn't in the guidebook...💭 It seems that Mt. Shinhanashinzan originally had a different name😳 It was formed by an eruption in 1983, so it was once called Mt.
