Agriturismo Poggio il Castellare in Tuscany

Reasons for choosing this accommodation: 1. It's only a 20-minute drive to a breathtaking spot (featured in the cover photo of my previous post), which I wanted to visit early in the morning. 2. Stylish rooms. 3. Functional shower. 4. Adorable restaurant 😍 5. Price (I aimed to keep the budget under 25,000 yen per person per night, and this fit perfectly). 6. Free parking available. After searching with these criteria, I found this place. I was a bit nervous about choosing accommodations after some missteps during my previous trips to Portugal and Spain, but this one exceeded my expectations 😍😍 The view from the accommodation was stunning, and I was deeply moved by the beautiful sunrises and sunsets visible from the room 🥹 The staff were incredibly kind, always greeting us with smiles during our three-day stay, which was truly heartwarming. Although the journey to get there was challenging, the scenery and experience made it all worthwhile. I'm so glad I chose this place! In my next post, I'll share more about the amenities, highlights, and drawbacks. Since there are few hotels in the Val d'Orcia area, staying at an agriturismo run by local farmers is common. This winery hotel was also an agriturismo. 📝 What is Agriturismo? Agriturismo combines agriculture and tourism, offering accommodations and experiences in rural areas. Farmers host guests at their farms, providing meals and activities, allowing visitors to enjoy rural life and farming culture. 📍 Agriturismo Poggio il Castellare Strada Castel Verdelli, 53024 Montalcino SI, Italy Room: Deluxe King Room 3 nights, 4 days with breakfast included, total for 2 people: 97,000 yen Additional costs: Room cleaning: €15 per session (we used it once) Wine tasting tour: €30 per person Dinner: Pasta costs €16–18 We opted for one room cleaning session, the wine tasting tour, and dinner for two nights, which added about 30,000 yen for two people. Since it's a winery, I highly recommend adding the wine tasting tour!
