Wine Town: Montepulciano, Italy

📍 Montepulciano Have you heard of it? Montepulciano is famous for its wine. If you search for it on Google, you'll mostly find images of wine rather than the town itself. It seems the name is more associated with wine than the town! 🍷 This charming town, surrounded by vineyards and perched on a hill enclosed by ancient walls, is often referred to as the "Pearl of the Renaissance." Among the towns I visited in Tuscany, Montepulciano stood out as the most rugged and stylish. Its stone architecture and predominantly brown tones give it a bold and striking appearance. 🇮🇹 While I wanted to shop for souvenirs here, there weren't many souvenir shops. Instead, the town is filled with restaurants and bars where you can enjoy wine, rather than cafes. The main tourist attractions are concentrated in the heart of the town: Piazza Grande, the Town Hall, and the Cathedral. However, the highlight of the visit is undoubtedly the Madonna di San Biagio Church. Located at the foot of the town, this church resembles a white castle. To me, it felt like something out of Cinderella's story. Its name, "Madonna," adds to its elegant and graceful aura. In person, it’s much larger than it appears in photos, so much so that it’s hard to capture its entirety with a camera.
