Name of the shrine: Iwateyama Shrine Worship Site Address: 3-6 Chuodori, Morioka Date of visit: 22.11.08 This is a shrine in the town. It was built on Shinyama Street in Morioka Castle Town and was called "Shinzan-do". It was renamed Iwateyama Shrine due to the separation of Shinto and Buddhism during the Meiji Restoration, and was then moved to this location around 1970 due to land readjustment, making it a long journey. There is a parking lot on the premises and a park next door, so it seems to be a place of relaxation for local people.
