Don’t Visit Mostar if You Have Only 1 Day

#springitinerary Spending a spring day in Mostar was one of the most beautiful travel experiences I’ve had. I started my morning early in the charming Old Town, where cobbled streets and stone buildings whispered stories from centuries ago. My first stop was the iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge). The view of the turquoise Neretva River beneath and the green hills in the background was absolutely breathtaking. I watched a local diver prepare to jump off the bridge — a thrilling tradition here — before visiting the Old Bridge Museum to learn about its incredible history. By midday, I wandered through the Kujundžiluk bazaar, where colorful stalls sold handcrafted souvenirs. I then enjoyed a delicious riverside lunch at Sadrvan, trying local dishes like čevapi and Begova čorba, followed by a traditional Bosnian coffee. In the afternoon, I visited the Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque, where climbing the minaret rewarded me with panoramic views of the city and bridge. I also spent some time in the War Photo Exhibition, which offered powerful insight into Mostar’s past. If you have a bit more time, I highly recommend a short trip to Blagaj, just outside Mostar. The peaceful Dervish monastery built beside the Buna River spring was a highlight — especially in spring, when everything is lush and vibrant.
