Hotel Mahaina offered us a relaxing and peaceful stay during our time in northern Okinawa. Located near the Motobu and Nago areas, it’s well-positioned for those planning to explore local attractions like the Churaumi Aquarium or the beautiful coastline nearby. What stood out most about the hotel was the spaciousness of the room — larger than most typical Japanese accommodations. We appreciated the layout, which provided ample space to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The attached balcony opened up to sweeping views of the sea, making mornings and evenings feel extra serene. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though we did notice that some of the furniture and fixtures were dated. A bit of refurbishment would really elevate the experience, but even so, the essentials were all there, and everything functioned well. The hotel also had an onsen (hot spring bath), which added to the relaxation factor after a full day out. While the decor might not be the most modern, the calm atmosphere, warm service, and excellent location made up for it.
