The name of the waterfall came from a survey of the area by forest rangers who found the seven-tiered waterfall near Sao Noi Village, located to the north of the waterfall. The waterfall was named Chet Sao Noi Waterfall, after the name of the village and the number of tiers of the waterfall. Chet Sao Noi Waterfall is a waterfall formed by Muak Lek Stream. It has seven low tiers, with water flowing down each tier into a wide stream that resembles large rapids. There are many shallow, clear pools where tourists can play in the water.
