Wat Khiriwan

Wat Khiriwan is an ancient temple that houses a large replica of the Emerald Buddha made from resin, enshrined in the temple on the hilltop. In the past, this temple was located in the middle of a field before it was moved to Khao Kariang. Originally named Wat Sawang Arom, it was overseen by the abbot Phra Khru Kiriwananukul Opas (Luang Por Ree). The temple is adorned with Khmer-style architectural art, including a large Khmer tower that enshrines Luang Por Bodhi, a Buddha image in the attitude of subduing Mara, over 1,000 years old, carved from a Bodhi tree. There are also various plaster figures of deities in both Chinese and Brahmanic styles. In the front area, there are replica Buddha statues, Buddha heads, and the instant god for worship.
