[One-day trip from Bangkok] I visited the world's tallest pagoda

This large pagoda is located at Wat Phra Pathom Chedi in Nakhon Pathom Province. Impressive size and power. Honestly, when I visited Wat Arun in Bangkok, it looked different from three years ago. They rent out traditional costumes, and it has become a photo spot especially for Chinese speakers, so I was shocked to see that it has become too touristy. It is within a day trip distance from Bangkok, there are not many tourists, and it is a temple where locals come to worship, and yet it is the tallest in the world at 120 meters, which makes a big impact! I decided to visit this place 🤍 After doing some research, - It was first built around the 3rd to 4th century - One theory is that it was built by King Ashoka of India, and another is that it was built by the Mon nation, but there are various theories - Buddhism was first introduced to the Indochina Peninsula - It was renovated in Khmer style during the Khmer period - It was renovated to its current form by order of Rama IV and Rama V - The remains of Rama VI are enshrined And so on, it has a deep connection with Buddhism, and its history is interesting! There are Buddha statues in many poses in the corridor. The method of worship, which involves applying gold leaf, is a fresh one. There is also a huge reclining Buddha statue. There is also a museum on the east side of the site, so it would be a good idea to visit both together 🙆‍♀️ It is accessed by taking a train from a station in the west of Bangkok for just about an hour! The train runs on time, but there is only one train per hour, so it's a good idea to check the train times on Google Maps or similar! It takes about 3 hours round trip from central Bangkok.
