Phra Pathom Chedi Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan Temple, Nakhon Pathom Province 🙏🙏🙏Phra Pathom Chedi, originally called ‘Phra Thom Chedi’, is considered the great relic of Suvarnabhumi. This Phra Thom Chedi may have been built when the missionaries of King Ashoka the Great traveled to Suvarnabhumi to spread their religion. This is because the original chedi was shaped like an inverted bowl, similar to the Sanchi Stupa, but it turned out to have a prang-like spire. It is the largest stupa in Thailand. 🙏🙏🙏 It enshrines the relics of the Lord Buddha. It is a large chedi in the shape of an inverted bell with a huge flaring mouth. The structure is made of logs tied with huge chains and covered with brick and mortar, decorated with tiles. There are four chapels in each direction and two layers of glass walls. It is a place of worship for Buddhists around the world. 🙏🙏🙏 Phra Ruang Rojanarit is a standing Buddha in the attitude of granting forgiveness. It is enshrined in a niche in the chapel to the north in front of Phra Pathom Chedi.
