Wat Chaeng Nai

Wat Chaeng Nai, Nakhon Ratchasima Province 🌿It is an ancient temple in the heart of Korat with a history of more than 300 years. It is estimated to have been built in the Ayutthaya period and is considered one of the oldest temples in the Northeast. 🙏The Maha-Udom chapel in the temple is an ancient architecture with its own unique identity. Originally, there were no windows according to ancient beliefs that it was a place for sacred ceremonies and the blessing of sacred objects for warriors before going to war. This chapel has been closed since 1985 and was just reopened in 2025 to begin a major renovation. 🌷Inside the Maha-Udom chapel is "Luang Pho Chaeng", a stucco Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya attitude, which is highly revered by locals.
