Built in 1491 by order of Sultan Bayezid II, this khan (commercial facility) is a symbol of Bursa's prosperous era of international trade as a key point on the Silk Road. It prospered especially in the silk trade, and even today it is a popular tourist destination as a place where many shops selling silk products and handicrafts gather. Koza Han's charm lies in its historic atmosphere and beautiful architecture. The courtyard features a beautiful fountain, and is surrounded by old-fashioned shops and cafes. Visitors can not only purchase silk scarves, traditional costumes, and handicrafts here, but also experience the history of trade during the Ottoman Empire. Another attraction is being able to enjoy the courtyard view while relaxing with a cup of chai at the cafe. As the name suggests, there are many silk products on display and they can be purchased relatively cheaply. Be careful, though, as anything that is too cheap is a fake!
