Suan Tan Temple

Wat Suan Tan is located in Nai Wiang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nan Province. Wat Suan Tan is known as one of the oldest temples in Nan Province. It is a beautiful and peaceful temple built during the reign of Queen Pathummawadi, the wife of Phraya Phukeng, the ruler of Nan, around 1955 B.E. It was built outside the northern wall of Nan City, which used to be Suan Tan Luang. It is also home to the famous Phra Chao Thong Thip, a bronze Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya posture, measuring 10 feet wide and 14 feet 4 inches high.
