Currently they are holding their annual lantern festival, where the streets of Confucius temple and Laomendong are lit up with beautiful displays. At night is the best time to see them, but be prepared for crowds and hiked up prices - if you want to eat before your visit, best to do so a little outside of the tourist areas.
