Especially the recent thangka art exhibition jointly held with the Tibet Art Museum is very lively and interesting. Thangka is a unique Tibetan painting art form. It is a colored scroll painting framed with colored satin and hung for worship. The materials used to make thangkas include precious mineral gems such as gold, silver, pearls, agate, coral, turquoise, malachite, cinnabar, and plant pigments such as saffron, rhubarb, and indigo. These natural raw materials make thangkas bright in color and long-lasting.
