Nanjing Qingliangshan Park

Qingliangshan Park is a free attraction with a rich history. There are many attractions worth seeing in the park, and here are some recommendations: - Ginkgo Valley: The Ginkgo Valley in Qingliangshan is the largest ginkgo forest in Nanjing, with more than 300 ginkgo trees. The lush greenery in spring and summer and the colorful foliage in late autumn each have their own charm. - Chongzheng Academy: Built in the 41st year of the Jiajing period of the Ming dynasty (1562), it has a history of more than 500 years. After several destructions, it was rebuilt in 1980 under the guidance of the famous architect Yang Tingbao. The Chinese-style architecture built according to the terrain is worth seeing, and the hydrangea flowers in late March and early April have an elegant charm. - Qingliang Temple: It is the ancestral temple of the Fayan School, one of the five schools of Zen Buddhism. It has been destroyed and rebuilt many times, and there is currently a main hall, with several halls at the back under maintenance. - Zhuma Slope: It is said that Zhuge Liang once went to Jingkou to meet Sun Quan to form an alliance against Cao Cao. On his way through Moling, he made a short stay and observed the mountains and rivers of Moling on horseback, leaving behind the famous saying, "Zhongfu is like a coiled dragon, and Shicheng is like a crouching tiger, truly a place for an emperor." - Saoye Tower: Located on the western slope, it is a three-bay, two-story wooden structure with upturned eaves, and was the former residence of Gong Xian. Gong Xian (1619–1689), courtesy name Banqian, was a famous painter and poet in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. After the fall of the Ming dynasty, he settled in Qingliangshan. He once painted a self-portrait, holding a broom and sweeping fallen leaves, hence the name Saoye Tower.
