🇵🇹Nazaré (the city with the highest waves in the world)

Minatomachi is relatively easy to access, just under two hours by bus from Lisbon (about 1,300 yen in Japanese yen). This place is a mecca for surfers, and the underwater topography makes it a spot where waves higher than those in Hawaii can be generated. It is surprisingly unknown to anyone other than surfers, and is not listed on the Internet or in the Earth's Travel Guide, so it is a place that only those in the know know about. There is a cable car station a five-minute walk from the center of Nazaré, and from there you climb a steep hill (about five minutes, €4 round trip).
