The Nilgiri Mountain Railway is also called a toy train, and is one of the most popular attractions in Ooty and Coonoor (one of the stations). More often than not, people board the Nilgiri Mountain Railway for the heritage experience and just to experience the thrill of riding a steep mountain route. This 115-year old Nilgiris Mountain railway is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005. The train starts from Mettupalayam and ends in Ooty in Tamil Nadu.
