Guangxi's First World Heritage Site

In 2016, the Zuojiang Huashan Rock Art Cultural Landscape was inscribed on the World Heritage List. It is China's 49th World Heritage Site and Guangxi's first. The Zuojiang Huashan Rock Art is located along the Zuojiang and Mingjiang Rivers near Chongzuo, with the most spectacular section in Ningming, Guangxi. The rock art vividly depicts the life and spirit of the ancient Luoyue people and is the only evidence of this tradition. The ancient people painted on the rocks by the river, and the scale of the paintings is impressive. Travel tips: If you're not driving, we recommend departing from Nanning in the afternoon. Take a long-distance bus to Ningming County (approx. 2.5 hours). Stay overnight at the Huashan Hotel next to the county government. The next day, take a taxi to the Ningming Huashan Scenic Area. As you need to take a boat to and from the site, the total tour time will be over 3 hours. Please plan your time accordingly. You can call the visitor center in advance to ask about the boat schedule.
