#getgoing2025 The Hokkaido Balloon Festival is a hot-class competition where colourful balloons fill the sky of Tokachi. It opened as the first hot air balloon event in Japan in 1974, and celebrated the 50th anniversary of its start in 2023. It's a hot air balloon tournament, but it's not a race for speed. "Tasks" are decided taking into account the weather and wind strength of the day, and the accuracy of the manoeuvring technique is mainly competed. The tournament will be held for 4 days, and depending on the year, a hot air balloon test drive will also be held. At the venue, there are also many stalls where you can enjoy Tokachi gourmet.
