【Nishinoshima】Yurahi Goddess Shrine

I went to Yurahime Shrine on Nishinoshima, an island in the Oki Islands of Shimane Prefecture! According to Shimane folklore, long ago, when Yurahime was crossing the sea in a potato barrel, a squid pulled (or bit) her hand, which was dipped in the sea. As an apology, squids began to swarm the beach in front of the shrine every year. You can also see squid statues carved into stone.
