[Nishinoshima] Matengai Cliff

We went to Matengai, a remote island in Nishinoshima, Oki District, Shimane Prefecture! It is located on Nishinoshima, one of the Oki Islands, which is designated as both the Oki UNESCO Global Geopark and the Daisen-Oki National Park. It is a huge cliff 257m above sea level that looks as if it was cut vertically with a giant knife, and is said to be one of the tallest cliffs in Japan formed by marine erosion!
