Pleasant place for retreat

Stayed 2 nites at Batam View Resort over the Haji holiday long weekend. Been here many years back but the hotel looked new due to recent renovation. Our room on the 4th floor was spacious, with comfortable King bed, quiet aircon plus nice seaview. Breakfast and lunch at Wangi Melati restaurant comprised mainly Indonesian, Chinese and Western fares - not particularly sumptuous but adequate and acceptable. The freshly brewed black coffee was good, though. Had dinner at The Kelong restaurant on the 1st nite and poolside BBQ on the 2nd nite - again nothing really special but good enough for an enjoyable meal esp with wine or beer. In the evening when the live band struck up the whole area was filled with music & much laughter as guests sang along with the band and occasionally someone would step up on stage to render a melodious number. Indeed, a nice place to relax and enjoy a retreat, not far from busy and noisy Singapore !
