Stopover at 🇩🇪 Nuremberg, Summer in Germany Part 2: Medieval Streets

Nuremberg wasn’t initially on my radar, but sometimes the best trips are the unplanned ones. Stepping into the city felt like walking through a storybook of medieval Germany, with half-timbered houses, cobblestone streets, and a towering castle watching over everything. 🏰 Exploring the Old Town I started with a casual walk through Nuremberg’s Altstadt (Old Town), crossing the beautiful Pegnitz River and admiring the city’s historic bridges. The Imperial Castle (Kaiserburg) stood tall above the city, offering some of the best panoramic views. Even just wandering through Hauptmarkt, where the famous Christmas market happens, gave a glimpse of the city’s charm. 🍜 A Taste of Vietnam in Nuremberg Surprisingly, I found some great Vietnamese food here! After a lot of Bratwurst and pretzels in Germany, a bowl of warm phở was exactly what I needed. Who knew Nuremberg had such solid Asian food options? 🚶♂️ Slow Walks & Hidden Corners One of the best things about Nuremberg was simply walking aimlessly, discovering small cafés, quiet courtyards, and street musicians filling the air with music. The city has a mix of old-world charm and a relaxed vibe, making it the perfect place to slow down and just take in the surroundings. ✨ Final Thoughts Nuremberg surprised me. A city deep in history, full of charm, and with some unexpected food gems, it was a stop worth making.
