[Okayama Korakuen]

#DomesticTravelRecord This is a feudal garden located in Kita-ku, Okayama City. It is one of the three most famous gardens in Japan and was built by Okayama feudal lord Ikeda Tsunamasa in the early Edo period. It has been designated a special national scenic spot. It was originally called "Gokouen" (Gokouen) because it was a garden built behind Okayama Castle, but in 1871 (Meiji 4) it was renamed "Korakuen." Okayama Castle is also known as "Ujou" (Crow Castle) because its exterior walls are covered with black-painted clapboards. It is also called UJO (bird (u) means crow). Inside the castle tower is a cultural facility where you can experience and feel the history of Okayama.
