My recent trip to Okinawa was a delightful blend of sunshine and delicious food, leaving me utterly enchanted by its beauty and warmth! The weather forecast from the 19th to the 22nd indicated comfortable temperatures, perfect for outdoor activities, but the strong sunlight made sun protection a priority. Be sure to carry SPF50+ sunscreen and reapply every 2-3 hours, especially on your face and shoulders. Wearing a hat or sunglasses can also effectively protect your skin, and when enjoying the beach, avoid the intense midday sun. As for food, the local bitter melon is a must-try! At the BLUE SEAL ice cream shop in RYUBO Department Store, I sampled a unique bitter melon flavor—it was refreshingly distinct. Another recommendation is the buffet at Lequ Okinawa Chatan Spa & Resort, where the bitter melon dishes are fresh, crisp, and delicious. Don’t miss visiting the local markets to pick up fresh bitter melon for cooking yourself; it’s tasty whether stir-fried or made into soup. Tour highlights include Manzamo and Kouri Island. Manzamo’s cliffside views are breathtaking, offering a stunning overlook of the azure sea that’s truly invigorating. Kouri Island is famous for its turquoise waters and heart-shaped bridge, making it a perfect spot for photos. The friendly locals and vibrant nightlife further enhance the travel experience.
