He studied abroad in Italy in 1971, where he further honed his skills by learning the traditional mural technique of fresco. After returning to Japan, he won the Yasui Award and solidified his status as a painter. Kinutani is always pursuing new expressions and has established an energetic and unique style. He is breathing new life into the genre of figurative painting.
