Osaka… A city that made my heart race from the very first step I took on its land. It's a lively, fun, and authentically charming Japanese city that anyone can easily fall in love with. My journey began at Kansai Airport, where the weather was perfectly cool—not too cold, not too hot. Stepping out, I was greeted by smiling, polite, and warm-hearted people, making me feel welcomed right from the start. From the airport, I headed straight to Dotonbori, famous for its vibrant lights, sounds, and delicious food. The neon lights and the iconic Glico sign are must-see landmarks for anyone visiting Osaka. The lively atmosphere is constant, with people walking past each other without blocking the way, and vendors cheerfully calling out to customers. I followed the enticing aroma of takoyaki from a small roadside stall, where a long queue of customers waited patiently. The first bite was heavenly—fragrant, with rich sauce and bonito flakes dancing on top, making the wait worthwhile. I also tried fresh sushi at a small alley shop, where the owner was incredibly friendly and attentive. The grilled eel rice bowl was sweet and tender, melting in my mouth to the point I didn’t want to leave my seat. Next, I strolled through Shinsaibashi, a shopping street filled with charming stores, from trinket shops and fashion boutiques to beautifully decorated cafes. I couldn’t resist buying cute stickers and small souvenirs that seemed unnecessary but were too adorable to pass up. The narrow alleys, combined with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods, made me feel like I was savoring slow, happy moments. One day, I chose to relax at Osaka Castle. The serene and quiet garden, surrounded by lush green trees, encircled the majestic castle. I climbed the stairs to the top of the castle to enjoy a panoramic view of Osaka city. The cool breeze and warm sunlight refreshed and relaxed me in a way I couldn’t quite describe. Beyond Osaka, I visited nearby Nara, a city filled with friendly deer roaming freely. I bought senbei crackers to feed them, and some deer approached me while others bowed as if greeting me. Their cuteness and the tranquil atmosphere made me feel like I had stepped into a fairytale world. When it comes to food, I can confidently say that Osaka’s cuisine is so delicious it makes you forget the world. From ramen with fragrant broth and chewy noodles, fresh sushi with various toppings, crispy yet tender tempura, to adorable Japanese sweets like mochi, daifuku, and matcha chocolate. I enjoyed a cozy cafe in a small alley, sipping green tea latte with soft cake, where the warm ambiance slowed down time. Osaka isn’t just a beautiful or modern city; it’s a place that brings warmth to your heart. It’s a city where you can take things slow, smile at little moments, and love yourself more each day. Osaka taught me that sometimes happiness isn’t far away—it’s in a city called “Osaka,” always ready to welcome you with smiles and the heartfelt charm of Japanese people.
