Osan Smith Peace Hall

"When I received the order to move, I asked where Korea was. The higher-ups simply said that I would find out when I got there." - William Coe- Special Task Force Smith, named after Battalion Commander Smith, engaged North Korea for the first time as an American force at Osan Jukmiryeong to block the North Korean army. They defended against the North Korean army's attack for about 6 hours at Jukmiryeong and retreated, but they suffered great losses due to the extreme situation where the order to withdraw was not delivered. The Smith Peace Hall is a space where you can indirectly experience the situation they were in at the time. You can experience the soldiers' perspective through VR of the transport plane that Smith's unit rode in and the train set heading to Jukmiryeong. We are living in peace today thanks to their dedication and sacrifice, leaving their loved ones behind to protect the peace of a distant foreign land whose name and location we do not know. #Exhibition
