Viking Ship Museum, Oslo, Norway

The Viking Skip Shuset, located on the Bygdøy Peninsula in Oslo, Norway, is one of the most complete museums in the world that preserves ancient Viking ships. The museum houses three wooden Viking ship wrecks from the 9th and 10th centuries. The Oseberg is famous for its exquisite carvings and is a burial ship for Viking nobles. The Gokstad showcases the pinnacle of Nordic navigation technology and once sailed across the Atlantic. These thousand-year-old ships have been restored through archaeological excavations, and together with unearthed sleds, fabrics and daily necessities, they vividly depict the trade networks, funeral culture and mythological beliefs of the Viking Age.
