However, along the way, there was a new dam being built across the Mekong River, so we felt that the Mekong River trip would be affected by this dam construction. - Arrived in Luang Prabang in the evening. Get off the pier and there is a service point for a songthaew into the city for about 20 minutes, about 100 baht per person. Most of them will drop you off at your hotel or if you don't have a place to stay, they will drop you off at the night market (Kad Muad), a famous tourist attraction of the hospital. The shopping spot is growing very fast. There are a lot of tourists.
