Saint-Chapelle and Conciergerie

I visited Saint-Chapelle and Conciergerie on the last day of my Museum Pass with an open run. Even though I arrived before 9 AM, there were already many people, and I had to wait for a long time. As a result, despite arriving before 9 AM, I remember entering after 10 AM. I was quite nervous because the Museum Pass was about to expire. Security checks at Saint-Chapelle are very strict. In my case, I got scolded for using two baskets, which felt unnecessary 😭. Once you enter, the chapel is divided into the first and second floors. The first-floor view might be a bit underwhelming, but the highlight of Saint-Chapelle is the second-floor chapel. The stained glass windows are incredibly stunning. Even though I visited on a somewhat cloudy day, I could still feel the light shining through. I regretted waiting for over an hour and even considered leaving, but in hindsight, I would have regretted it more if I hadn’t gone in. I believe the one-hour wait was worth it, and I recommend visiting with the expectation of waiting. Conciergerie is located right next to Saint-Chapelle. I entered just 10 minutes before my Museum Pass expired and was able to get in without any waiting. They also provide free guides here, which support Korean. The guide is even on a tablet, so the quality is excellent. At Conciergerie, I was particularly impressed by the space where Marie Antoinette spent her final days. The video explanations detail her last moments leading up to her execution, which was quite shocking and one of the most memorable parts for me. It was an opportunity to learn about the final days of a queen in great detail. Considering the many distortions surrounding Marie Antoinette, I felt there might be some unfair aspects to her story.
