Weapons Museum, Phetchabun Province

The Weapons Museum (Itthi Base) is named after Colonel Itthi Sima-rak, who played an important role in the fight to retake Khao Kho from communist insurgents in 1981. This area used to be an artillery base, providing support for the battle. It is now an open-air museum with many weapons and equipment used in the battle, such as F-5 fighter jets, artillery carriers, two 105 mm cannons, one 155 mm cannon with a range of 11 kilometers, etc. Inside the building, there is a room to brief about the events in the bloody battle of Khao Kho. There is an exhibition room about communist equipment, tools, clothing, and weapons. Outside the building, there is also a weapons base, displaying weapons and equipment, such as cannon wrecks, tanks, tractors, and bunkers. Each point has a history sign with explanations.
