Salapoon Worawihan Temple

Wat Sala Poon, Ayutthaya Province 🙏This is another ancient temple with great strategic importance because it is located next to the Mahanak Canal. Inside Wat Sala Poon Worawihan, there is a three-tiered ordination hall made of brick and mortar with a wooden gable roof on top. There are twenty-cornered prangs on either side of the front of the ordination hall. At the back of the ordination hall, there is a bell-shaped pagoda. 🪷Luang Pho Khaen Lai, which is pre-Ayutthaya art, is a seated Buddha image with a lap width of 29 inches. It looks like the chief disciples of the Lord Buddha, namely Phra Moggallana and Phra Sariputta. One of the arms of the Buddha image has a clear Yantra inscription, which is the origin of the name "Luang Pho Khaen Lai". It is a sacred Buddha image that is said to be able to ask for blessings and be successful and to ward off suffering and illness. 🙏Inside the ordination hall, there is a standing Buddha image, which is considered the only principal Buddha image in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province that has a standing Buddha image.
