Wat Ratchaburana is a beautiful temple where you can feel the history of Ayutthaya, and its Khmer-style pagoda is particularly impressive. 🙆 It was built by King Sam Phraya in 1424, and although it was destroyed by the Burmese invasion, it still boasts its splendor. If you visit, be sure to enter the inside of the pagoda. You can enter the middle of the pagoda, and on the morning I visited, I saw an owl roaming around energetically. You can also climb the chedi, but be careful as it is a steep staircase. The ruins themselves are a 2-3 minute walk from Wat Mahathat, so it is a convenient place to visit in conjunction with other tourist attractions in Ayutthaya. If you plan to visit other ruins, it is a good idea to purchase a one-day pass (220 baht). It takes about 20 minutes to visit, but it is recommended to spend a little more time to appreciate its historical value and tranquility.
