"Luang Pho Yim" Wat Thakarong

#VisitAyutthaya Wat Tha Karong is an ancient temple from the Ayutthaya period. It is located on the bank of the Chao Phraya River on the west side of the island of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, in the middle of two Muslim villages: Ban Tha and Ban Karong. It is a Buddhist temple in the middle of a Muslim community. Wat Tha Karong is located in Ban Tha. It is one of the temples that tourists like to visit to pay homage to the sacred Buddha image called "Phra Phutta Rattana Mongkhon" or "Luang Pho Yim". It is believed to have been built in the early Ayutthaya period when the city was prosperous and peaceful, as can be seen from the beautiful Buddha image and the compassionate face. Wat Tha Karong has decorated the temple grounds with flowers and ornamental plants in an orderly manner. It also has beautifully decorated bathrooms that won the national Best Toilet of the Year Contest in 2006 in the category of temples and religious sites. #wattosann
