[Thailand/Ayutthaya] The magnificent palace ruins of Wat Phra Si Sanphet on the side of Ayutthaya Historical Park

Wat Phra Si Sanphet, the ruins of a palace, is located right next to Ayutthaya Historical Park. It is the most important temple in the Ayutthaya Royal Palace during the Ayutthaya Dynasty, and is like Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) during the Bangkok Dynasty. The most famous place in the Ayutthaya ruins is Wat Mahathat, famous for its Buddha head covered in the roots of a bodhi tree, but the most important place in the Ayutthaya ruins is Wat Phra Si Sanphet. It is now a World Heritage Site that remains as ruins rather than as a temple.
