Butterfly Fortress

#Places to visit near Bangkok, Phisuea Samut Fortress is located on an island in the Chao Phraya River. It was built during the reign of King Rama II in 1819 and completed in 1822. The fortress looks like a butterfly, using the tail of the butterfly as the entrance. We can visit Phisuea Samut Fortress by using the bridge next to Wat Phra Samut Chedi and walk along the path to find the entrance to Phisuea Samut Fortress. At the guard point, there is a book for signing in to visit the place. There is no fee. Next to the guard point, there are drinking water for sale. Walking into the fortress, there is a cannon on display. On the edge of the fortress is the shrine of the Lord of the Black Sea Tongue and the Goddess of the Phisuea Samut. Leaving the fortress is an old minefield. Inside is a shrine to the Goddess Parvati and the remains of an ancient wooden boat. Walking along the Chao Phraya River on the Samut Prakan side, there is a monument to Admiral Prince Abhakara Kiartivongse, Prince of Chumphon Khet Udomsak.
