Phra That Thin Luang Temple, Ban Thin Subdistrict

Phra Khru Wichit Thammaraphon, former abbot of Wat Luang, and local leaders, including Mr. Songwut Ngammisri, former governor of Phrae, Mrs. Rattana Ngammisri, former head of the Red Cross Society of Phrae, Mrs. Thannalak Choicharoen, former director of the Phrae Cultural Center, Mr. Chumphon Prachwirakun, president of the Phrae Buddhist Association, Mr. Tan Aphai Kawi, Mr. Kaew Thammasarangkun, Mr. Khammoon Thinsuk, senior headmen, and many other important figures, as well as government officials, merchants, locals, students, and scholars, unanimously selected a hill in Doi Den Nang Fah, Ban Thin Subdistrict, as the location for establishing the Phra Borommathat Thin Thaen Luang Buddha Park in honor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of His Majesty’s accession to the throne. The construction began on May 5, 1996, with the venerable Luang Pu Phra Maha Phothi Wongsachan as the chairman. Advisor to the Sangha Region 6, Wat Phra Bat Ming Muang Worawihan, is the chairman of the monks' sect. Phra Khru Sri Mongkhon Chayaphon, the abbot of Mueang Phrae District, Wat Chaimongkhon, is the vice chairman. Wat Phra That Thin Taen Luang is located at No. 1, Village No. 3, Ban Thin Subdistrict, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province, located in the northeast, approximately 12 kilometers from the city of Phrae. The Department of Religious Affairs has been granted permission to grant a degraded reserved forest area by the Royal Forest Department. The permitted area is 189 rai. Most of the area has been purchased back from the people who have reserved it. #Phrae
